SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 AUSTRALIAN CONTRACT REVOLVER W/SHOULDER STOCK. Cal. 44 Russian. Nickel finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, missing the grips, with unnumbered original type stock. Left side of the grip frame is stamped “R-N” in a rectangle and with the date 3/71, apparently the date refinished. The records indicate this is an Australian model. The broad arrow was apparently removed during refinish and all the numbers restamped. SN 12259. CONDITION: Excellent as refinished, retaining virtually all the fine factory nickel. Hammer and trigger guard retain about 90% fading case colors. Bore is bright and strong with scattered light pitting, crisp mechanics. Stock is extremely fine with the iron retaining most of its bright nickel. Wood is sound and retains of its original finish.
