SMITH & WESSON #3 AMERICAN 2ND MODEL REVOLVER W/SHOULDER STOCK. Cal. 44RF. Usual configuration, 8” keyhole ribbed bbl, pinned iron half moon front sight with smooth 2-pc walnut grips. Grip frame is cut for shoulder stock with the notch at the top of the backstrap and two notches in the butt. Lanyard screw hole has factory plug. In addition to the serial number there is a “25” also stamped on the butt. Accompanied by an original buttstock, complete with smooth steel buttplate. SN 25907. CONDITION: Fair to good. No original finish remains being a medium dark gray-brown patina overall with light surface pitting. All matching except the grips which are numbered 17064. Stock is unnumbered. Hammer is converted from 2nd model center fire style with two pins securing the rim fire nose. Heavily worn with strong dark bore. Cylinder stop does not engage. Grips are fine. Stock iron retains no original finish having been chemically cleaned and is covered with fine pitting.
