OUTSTANDING FOLK ART PRESIDENTIAL FIRST LADIES QUILT. Sixteen blocks have sixteen different Presidential First Ladies starting with Martha Washington and ending with Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt. Each square has a watercolor and patchwork needlework likeness of each woman in appropriate dress of the time. Each are labeled in black needlework and dated. On white linen and have a blue cross stitch border around the square. Center of quilt is written in needlework “Christmas Greetings 1934”. Possibly unique and shows a tremendous talent and creativity. Blue border with a blue backing. SIZE: 81” x 67”. CONDITION: Very good with some spots which probably could be cleaned. 9-28344 (5000-7000)
