LESTER F. JOHNSON (American, 1919-) “THREE COMRADES”. Oil on canvas abstract scene shows three figures in black outline against a mustard brown background. Signed on reverse of canvas and dated 1964. Attached to stretcher are two old exhibit labels. One with title and artist from Martha Jackson Gallery, New York City. Other is from the Art Lending Service of the Museum of Modern Art. Also a copy of the invoice from the Martha Jackson gallery for this painting dated March 20, 1967. Housed in a partial gilt and black wide wood frame. SIZE: 16” x 20”.
