KURT VON ROZYNSKI (German, 1864) THE PROPOSAL. Large oil on canvas scene shows a young soldier in blue uniform kneeling on a rock next a young maiden who sits on same rock and holds some red flowers in one hand. As he holds the other hand they look into each others eyes. All set on the edge of a cascading stream with woods and sunlit at top. Signed lower left. Also “Berlin 00”. Housed in its original fancy frame. SIZE: 40-1/2” x 29-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good. Small patch to reverse with corresponding inpainting. 9-73839 (5,500-7,500)
