STEUBEN THEODORE ROOSEVELT PLAQUE. Truly outstanding Steuben plaque is cut from a solid block of crystal and engraved to commemorate Theodore Roosevelt. At the top is a figure of Roosevelt speaking from a flag draped podium. Behind him, the American eagle. Beneath the figure is the date “1895” followed by the last sentence of an article ,“True American Ideals,” written while Roosevelt was head of the New York City Police Board. Piece was designed by Donald Pollard and Bruce Moore between 1959 and 1962 as part of a series with Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington. Shown on pg. 289 of the new Madigan book “Steuben Glass: An American Tradition in Crystal”. Comes complete with red leather presentation case and red leather binder. SIZE: 15-1/2 in. t.
