WILLIAM TROST RICHARDS (American, 1833-1905) “A FOGGY DAY”. Watercolor scene of what probably is Rockaway Beach shows crashing wave on sandy beach with one seagull flying left to right. Signed lower left “Wm. T. Richards 90”. Titled in pencil on back and also “A E S C.417”. Housed in a gilt carved wood frame. SIZE: 12” x 23-3/4”. CONDITION: There is a vertical line above the seagull and an angled line to the left which appear to be cracks but from the back side they do not show. There may be some touch up around these lines but it is hard to discern. Otherwise good. 9-25778 (5,000-10,000)
