*ENGRAVED AND INSCRIBED MARLIN MODEL 24 PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN. SN 136904. Cal. 12 ga. 27-7/8″ matted top bbl with single silver sighting bead. 2-3/4″ chamber, CYL choke . Receiver is engraved on right side with open scroll and two pigeons on bolt in flight. Left side is engraved with open scroll and oval with presentation to “DR. C.C.MANNING CHAMPION WING SHOT RIFLE-PISTOL-SHOTGUN U.S.A”. Mounted in fancy well figured walnut with full checkered forend and checkered pistol grip stock. 13-1/2″ to fancy engraved hard rubber butt plate. Bore Diameter: .722 Bore Restrictions: .000 Wall Thickness: NA Drop at Heel: 2-1/2″ Drop at Comb: 1-1/2″ Weight: 7 lbs 14 oz. CONDITION: Very good to Fine. Bbl retains 80-85% blue with thinning and turning towards patina forward of magazine tube and a few usual minor nicks and scratches. Receiver retains 70-75% original blue with carrying wear and thinning to a silver patina. Wood is sound and retains most of a fine hand rubbed oil finish and recut checkering. Mechanics are good. The bore has some light scattered pitting and a slight bulge about a foot from the chamber. Very rare factory engraved and presentation shotgun. 4-32155 BDT138 (2,500-3,500)
