RARE ORIGINAL WOODEN BOX OF WINCHESTER GUN GREASE.

RARE ORIGINAL WOODEN BOX OF WINCHESTER GUN GREASE. Salt cod type box, 11-3/4” long x 5” wide x 1-5/8” deep with sliding lid that has a label on top stating that it contains ten tubes of Winchester Gun Grease and that it was manufactured expressly for Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Inside is the original blue paper and seven early tubes of Winchester grease, each wrapped in a different colored paper. The box has an end label which also states there are ten tubes of grease. CONDITION: Part of one end of the box and part of the label have been torn away but are present and inside the box. None of the remaining tubes of grease appear to have been used and retain most of their original finish. Box and labels are oil soaked, but the labels are all legible with some light foxing. 4-52968 JR713 (500-1,000)
