SCARCE ENFIELD SNIDER CONVERSION CARBINE. Cal. .57 SN 4391. Converted rifle with 25-1/4″ bbl, barleycorn front sight and reverse mounted ladder rear sight. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with two bands and slotted head wiping rod. It has a brass buttplate with the number “327” on the tang and has the Enfield cartouche on the right side near the buttplate. The lockplate has usual markings with the date “1867”. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains about 70% strong orig blue with a couple of large patches of light surface rust. Stock is sound showing moderate to heavy wear and retains most of a fine dark patina. Mechanics are fine, strong dark bore with fine pitting that will clean better. 4-54277 JR53 (700-1,000)
