C. A. LUDLOW (American, 19th Century) COLLECTION OF NINETEEN WATERCOLORS. Collection includes three 18-1/2″ x 15″ black and white watercolors titled “Rain”, “Sunshine ” and “Eurydice”. They are all signed and dated with “New York” 1) “July 1805” showing a girl with a dog, 2) “Nov. 1805” showing a girl with a cat and 3) “February 1806″ showing a woman with snake and tree. Also a 15″ x 19-1/2” colored watercolor titled “The Fern Cutters Child” with girl and dog on a hillside. Signed, also New York May 1806. Others include “View Near Limbourg” dated 1802; “View at Newtown Isle of Wight” dated 1802; Unsigned landscape dated 1802; “View Near Southampton” dated 1802; “Hornsey House” dated 1802; Unsigned and undated of a house and landscape; “Orestone Passage Plymouth” dated 1802; “View Near Gloucester” dated 1802; three other landscapes and four portraits of women titled “Tragedy”, “Perdita”, “Meditation” and “Comedy”, all dated 1805.
