*HIGH GRADE HAND DETACHABLE SIDE LOCK MERKEL OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN. SN 27737. Cal. 12 ga. 28-1/2″ “BOHLER SPECIAL STEEL” bbl with solid rib, single ivory sighting bead. 2-3/4″ chambers,FULL/FULL CHOKES, ejectors and articulated dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in outstanding foliate arebesque scroll with shaded backgrounds. Across bottom engraved “SUHLER WAFFENWERK GREBRUDER MERKEL, SUHL”. This fine over/under has thumb lever for hand detachable fully functioning sidelocks with cocking indicators. BBLS are date coded 544. BBL is also mounted with 3/4″ sling swivel. Mounted in nicely figured walnut with checkered 3-pc forend. Checkered pistol grip with black horn grip cap, left side oval cheek piece 14-1/4″ to serrated horn butt plate with GM logo and 3/4″ swivel mounted in toe line 4-1/2″ from butt plate. Probably a Grade 304E. Bore diameter:top-.725, bottom -.726. Bore restrictions: top -.054, bottom -.053. Wall thickness: top -NA, bottom -NA. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″ . Drop at comb:1-3/8″ . Weight:6 lbs. 15 oz. CONDITION: Extremely Fine. BBLS retain 98-99% of their fine original blue with just some minor muzzle wear and a couple of light handling marks. The greyed receiver is sharp and crisp with just a faint darkening in the carrying area on bottom of receiver. The stocks are sound with just a couple of minor handling nicks and dings and a small chip at the toe in both the plate and stock. Checkering is sharp.
