OUTSTANDING PAIR OF ENGLISH STERLING SILVER CANDLESTICKS. Hallmarked on the side with maker’s mark “IS” (London, John Scofield, 1786). Each stick has a later monogram but an early engraved “GMP” next to hallmark. Candlesticks with tapered fluted shaft having a band with scroll leaf and flower decoration. Flaring candle cup and round base with bead decoration. WEIGHT: 39 tr. oz. SIZE: 11-1/2” h x 5-1/2” dia base. CONDITION: Professional repair to the junction of candle cup to stem, otherwise very good. 9-71581 (1,500-2,500)
