Oil on canvas backed by cardboard of New England farm scene shows a man behind a pair of steer with harrow all under large trees and blue sky. Most likely a scene from Rhode Island or Massachusetts. Signed lower left. Housed in a fancy gilt period frame with gold liner. REFERENCE: According to Who’s Who “Bannister was among the earliest Rhode Island landscape painters and the first African-American artist to win National recognition”. SIZE: 13” x 11”.
