FABULOUS ORNAMENTAL GILT BRASS VICTORIAN CASKET. This “Grand Tour” casket with ornamental designed brass work exterior is fitted on each of its four sides with small oval windows. Each mounted with watercolor vignettes which appear to be on ivory? Having very intricate painted details of various architectural wonders of the world. The top of the casket also fitted with a very large similarly painted watercolor on ivory panel. SIZE: Approximately 8” w x 6” d x 4-1/4” h. CONDITION: A crack in the ivory panel on the lid and the watercolor images, each with some imperfections. An elegant piece of early Victoriana. 9-98019 (1,000-2,000)
