EXQUISITE PAIR OF VIENNA TYPE PORTRAIT PLATES. These magnificent plates are wonderfully decorated. First with two maids playing musical instrument and a putty seated between them blowing a horn. Signed “K. Wildner”. Titled on the reverse “Amor Songs” with blue beehive mark. Framed in brilliant gilt gold with a border of brilliant sapphire blue ornament in delicate gold decoration. A matching plate with a different scene depicts that of a maid reading a letter in the presence of others. A lovely peacock in the foreground. Signed by the artist in lower left “Lallermann”. Titled on the reverse “Lovett Letter” with the blue beehive mark. SIZE: 10-1/2” dia. CONDITION: Generally excellent with the exception of a couple of small wear spots on the gilt.
