EARLY ANTIQUE WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. SN 11020. Standard grade rifle with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight with screw and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent buttplate. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle as having been shipped December 10, 1895. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus. Bbl and magazine tube retain 98-99% strong bright original blue with one or two tiny spots. Receiver retains 96-98% strong bright original blue with extremely fine sharp edge wear and a small scratched spot on the left rear side of the receiver. Lever and, hammer retain most of their brilliant case colors faded on the outside of the lever. Buttplate retains most of its original case colors faded and turning silver. Wood is sound and retains virtually all of its brilliant varnish with only one or two very minor storage marks. Mechanics fine, brilliant shiny bore. 4-52423 JR225 (4,000-7,000)
