ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 THIRD ISSUE TIP UP REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. Nickel finish, 3-3/16” ribbed round bbl, bird head 2-pc ivory grips. This fine little revolver has about 70% coverage fine New York style engraving with foliate arabesque patterns on the frame with punched dot background. Bbl has diamond and dot patterns with some foliate patterns. SN 84188. CONDITION: Extremely fine. All matching except the grips which are unnumbered but appear original to this revolver. Overall, it retains about 95-97% strong original nickel with some minor pitting around the forcing cone area and front of the cylinder. Grips are a beautiful mellow yellow with nice grain.
