SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 FIRST ISSUE 5TH TYPE REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. Usual configuration, 3-3/16” ribbed oct bbl, brass frame and square butt and 2-pc rosewood grips. Recoil shield is fixed to the frame with the center pivot. SN 5024. CONDITION: Good. All matching including the grips. Bbl retains traces of original blue with scattered fine pitting. Frame is a medium mustard patina with silver under the grips. Grips are fine retaining 40-50% original varnish. Cylinder is a light gray patina with pitting and the patent line just visible. Strong dark bore. Cylinder latch does not completely engage, otherwise mechanics are fine. 4-48064 JR157 (Anderson Collection) (500-1,000)
