*EARLY CASED BROWNING PIGEON GRADE 2BBL SET SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. SN 8751. Cal. 20ga. 26-1/2″ and 28″ bbls. Set 1 is 28″ vent rib with dual ivory sighting beads, 2-3/4″ chamber MOD/FULL choke. Set 2 is 26-1/2″ vent rib with dual ivory sighting beads, 2-3/4″ chamber IMP. CYL/MOD choke. The coin finish receiver is engraved with usual foliate arabesque scroll and two pigeons in flight on each side and a flowery bouquet on bottom. This fine gun is signed on both sides by Browning’s master engraver “Funken.” Mounted in nicely figured walnut with checkered round knob pistol grip and long tang, 14-1/4″ over Browning horn buttplate. Both bbl sets equipped with checkered field style fore ends. Set 1: Bore diameter: top -.614, bottom -.613. Bore restrictions: top -.034, bottom -.017. Wall thickness: top -.031, bottom -.042. Set 2: N/A. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight:6lbs 7.04oz. Cased in a vintage brown Browning marked case with blue interior. CONDITION: Very fine. 28″ bbls retain 98% of their orig blue with just faint rub marks from fore end and a slight touch of muzzle wear. 26″ bbls are 95-98% with the same faint rub marks from fore end, slight muzzle wear, and a couple small minor handling marks. The coin finished receiver is very bright and clean. There is a small amount of oil darkening in the engraving of both fore end irons. The stocks are extremely good with only a very few minor handling nicks and contain virtually 100% of their professionally hand-rubbed finish. Mechanics are crisp and bores are shiny. Case is fine with a few stitches missing and slight corner tattering. Interior is good with just some slight oil discoloration spots. 4-33277 BDT75 (10,000-15,000)
