SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 FIRST ISSUE 6TH TYPE REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. Usual configuration. 3-3/16” ribbed oct bbl, brass frame, square butt and 2-pc rosewood grips. Recoil shield is fixed to the frame with the ratchet as part of the rear of the cylinder. SN 7280. CONDITION: Good, all matching including the grips, which are both numbered. No original finish remains. Bbl is a dark plum patina with fine surface rust and light pitting. Bbl address is very thin. Frame has been cleaned with no trace of original finish remaining, only under the grips. Cylinder is a dark brown patina with part of the patent line visible. Grips are fine retaining a smooth hand patina. Poor bore, good mechanics. 4-48079 JR159 (Anderson Collection) (500-1,500)
