*RARE EARLY 50’S BROWNING GRADE 4 SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. SN 21506. Cal. 12 ga., 26-1/2″ bbls matted vent rib with red center bead and ivory bradley style front sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chamber, choke marked “SKEET/SKEET”, ejectors and gold single trigger. Grade 4 receiver is engraved with forested scene with mother fox returning to her den with a duck for her 2 pups on left side, two pigeons on bottom 1 in flight, and a forested scene with 2 setters, 1 carrying a pheasant, and 2 other pheasants in flight, trigger guard engraved with 2 pheasants, one perched on tree limb, other looking up. The remainder of the receiver, an appended metal, are covered with oak leaf scroll and signed on both sides by Master “F. Funken”. Mounted in nicely figured streaky walnut with full checkered field style forend, and about 1/4″ thick screwed on horn cap. Checkered round knob, long tang stock with 14-1/2″ over Browning vented recoil pad. Bore diameter: top -.724 , bottom -.725. Bore restrictions: top -.001, bottom -.001. Wall thickness: left -.039, right -.042. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7lbs 5oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 95-98% orig blue, with usual marks on bottom bbl from forend, slight muzzle wear and the usual light handling marks. Receiver, and appended metal are all crisp and clean. Stocks are sound and retain virtually all of their fine hand rubbed finish with only a very few light handling marks. 4-32029 BDT97 (7,000-10,000)
