SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 SECOND ISSUE 2ND QUALITY REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. Silver and blued finish, 3-3/16” oct ribbed bbl with 2-pc square butt and rosewood grips. Frame is marked on the right side with the second quality markings and some other nearly indecipherable stampings, possibly “B. Kittridge &Co.” This revolver is 1 of a total of 4,402 so marked and only 359 of which were sold in 1865, the year this revolver was produced. SN 71080. CONDITION: Good. All matching including the grips. Cylinder may have an incomplete assembly number. Frame retains about 85% silver plating. Bbl and cylinder retain most of an old refinish. Grips are fine and retain about 80% varnish. The patent line on the cylinder is mostly visible. Strong dark bore, good mechanics. 4-48062 JR162 (Anderson Collection) (800-1,500)
