CASED ROLLIN WHITE REVOLVER “MADE FOR SMITH & WESSON”. Cal. 22 Short. Silver and blued finish, 2-5/8” ribbed oct bbl with German silver front sight and square butt, 2pc rosewood grips. Solid frame revolver with removable cylinder pin. Bbl is marked on top of the rib “MADE FOR SMITH & WESSON BY ROLLIN WHITE, ARMS CO. LOWELL, MASS.” Frame is silver plated with the bbl, cylinder and cylinder pin blued. Accompanied by a small mahogany casing 8-1/8”l x 4 3/4”w that is red and black velvet lined with French fitted cut out for the revolver. It has a tiny brass knob triangular lid compartment and a cartridge block in the opposite corner for 30-rounds of ammunition. SN 10030. CONDITION: Fine, all matching including the grips. Frame retains 92-93% original silver with some spotting on the backstrap. Bbl and cylinder are mostly a blue-brown patina. Patent line is faint but visible. Grips are fine and retain about 60% original varnish. Bore is strong and bright with scattered deep pitting, fine mechanics. Case is fine with minor nicks and dings retaining about 95% original varnish. Lining is slightly faded and has the impression of the revolver.
