SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1795 FLINTLOCK MUSKET WITH MARYLAND SURCHARGE. NSN. 69 Cal. 44-3/4” rnd bbl. Marked “SPRINGFIELD” in a downward arc vertically at the rear of the lockplate. There is an eagle over a script “US” in front of the hammer. The date “1800” is stamped on the buttplate tang. “MARYLAND” is branded on the right side of the forearm ahead of the lockplate. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina with light to moderate pitting. Stock has cracks at the front and rear of the lockplate as well as the buttplate and rear lockplate screw and some erosion above the lockplate. Swivels are missing. Ramrod is a replacement. This is a professional reconversion with some replaced parts. Mechanically fine. 4-59181 (6,500-9,500)
