RACKET SHREVE (American, 20th Century) “SQUALL OVER NANTUCKET SOUND”. Fine watercolor scene shows a two-mast sailing vessel in stormy seas with Nantucket light ship and other boat. Dark gray sky on right side has lightening bolts and left shows light break in clouds. Signed lower right. Nicely housed in a gilt molded wood frame with white matte having penned title. Shreve was born in Salem, Mass and is known for his marine illustrations. SIGHT SIZE: 15” x 19-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-26144 (1,000-1,200)
