QUEEN ANNE SILVER CASTER. Isaac Liger, London, 1712. The Queen Anne caster of large size is engraved on the upper portion with a crest in a contemporary cartouche. Central hounds head surrounded by a scroll and leaf border. Vase formed with partially octagonal body raised on a circular stepped base. The cover having pierced floral design work surmounted with a ball knop end. Isaac Liger was a noted Huguenot Goldsmith of Hemings Row. First entering his mark in 1704, died in 1730. NOTE: Woolworth records show that this is from the noted collection of Captain H. D. Clarke. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (FW Woolworth Dept. Store). WEIGHT: 15 tr. oz. SIZE: 8-3/4” h.
