ROGERS & SPENCER PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 44. SN 1764. Usual configuration with 7-1/2” oct bbl, silver cone front sight with grooved receiver top rear sight. It has case colored rammer and lever with flared butt, 2-pc walnut grips that have a fine sharp cartouche on the left side. The revolver also has small inspector’s initials on the various parts. The right forward flat of the frame is stamped “D.B. Wylie”. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl retains about 98% strong bright original blue with a wrench mark near the frame. Rammer and lever retain faded case hardening with traces of color being mostly a medium gray patina. Frame and cylinder retain 80-85% strong bright original blue with a few light scratches and heavy flaking on the top strap and cylinder. Grip frame is a silver-brown patina. Left grip has a chipped toe, otherwise they have light nicks and scratches and retain most of their original finish. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore with fine pitting. 4-52002 JR686 (1,500-2,500)
