*CASED AYA MODEL 1 2-BBL SET SIDELOCK SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 413812. Cal. 12 gauge. 26″ and 28″ bbls with tapered concave rib and single silver sighting bead. Ribs are engraved, “AYA – AGUIRRE & ARANZABAL – Made in Spain.” with some moderate scroll engraving from chamber area and a narrow band at the breech end. 26″ bbl inlaid with gold No. “1”. 28″ bbl with gold No. “2.” Bottom of bbls are marked, “Canones Cromo Niquel” and stamped, “JBL Arms Co. Davenport – Iowa.” 26″ bbls are choked marked at IMP.CYL/MOD and 28″ bbl MOD/FULL. Both bbls are chambered 2-3/4″ with ejectors. Receiver is engraved in Purdey style rose and scroll pattern with Holland & Holland type hand attachable locks, articulated double triggers. Mounted in nicely figured walnut with checkered small beavertail forend, checkered straight grip stock with dropper point, 15-3/8″ over solid black decelerator pad. Set 1: Bore diameter: left -.727, right -.727. Bore restrictions: left -.010, right -.006. Wall thickness: left -.035, right -.030. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″. Drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 7 lbs 3 oz. Set 2: Bore diameter: left -.729, right -.729. Bore restrictions: left -.041, right -.018. Wall thickness: left -.028, right -.032. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″. Drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 7 lbs 5 oz. Housed in leather case with makers label; including an AYA brochure identifying this gun as a model 1, and certificates identifying each set of bbls, and dated May 17th, 1973. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl sets retain 98-99% orig blue with just a few light handling marks. Receiver has nearly all of it’s bright orig case coloring with just some minor sharp edge wear. Stocks are sound with a couple of minor light handling marks and retain nealry all of their fine oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, and bores are bright. Case is fine with some minor edge wear and a few water spots on lid. 4-32144 BDT154 (3,000-5,000)
