ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 SECOND ISSUE REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. Silver finish, 3-3/16” ribbed oct ribbed bbl with 2-pc square butt ivory grips. This fine revolver is engraved with about 60% coverage foliate arabesque patterns with punch dot background in New York style. Backstrap is period inscribed “ANNA”. Cylinder is also engraved over the patent line with foliate arabesque patterns. SN 53446. CONDITION: Good. All matching except the grips which are unnumbered. Frame retains 50-60% original silver with the balance medium mustard patina. Bbl is a dark gray patina with scattered light pitting. Cylinder is dark metal color with one area of deep pitting. Grips are a fine dark yellow color. Bore is dark and strong with moderate to heavy pitting. Will not hold on full cock.
