WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE IMPERIAL BOWL. Truly fine museum quality Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre Imperial bowl is wonderfully decorated in the Lahore pattern. Exterior of bowl is brightly decorated against a rich midnight blue lustre background with bright colors of orange, yellow, blue and green. Interior of bowl is decorated with three large elephants, one large horse and rider, one large camel and flying birds. Decoration is done in black lustre against a cream and yellow background. Quite often in the Lahore pattern you will see a considerable amount of running in the black lustre figures, this piece shows very little, if any, running of color, a very fine example. Marked on the underside with Portland vase mark, “Wedgwood”, “England” and “Z5266”. SIZE: 10-1/2” dia x 4-3/4” t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-63643 (4,000-6,000)
