MARSHALL JOHNSON JR. (American, 1850-1921) SCHOONER OFF A RED LIGHTHOUSE. Oil on canvas scene shows a schooner heading out by a large low red building with lighthouse top. Several other sails are seen on a green wavy ocean. Signed lower right “M. Johnson Jr./77”. Housed in a gilt molded wood frame with linen and gold liner. REFERENCE: Listed in the Bicentennial Inventory of American Paintings, Smithsonian Institute and comes with card dated 1976 from previous owners acknowledgement card. SIZE: 10” x 8”. CONDITION: Very good, small chip repair above lighthouse. 9-26483 (1,250-1,750)
