*FABULOUS PRE WAR GRADE 4A HEYM SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 6049. Cal. 20 gauge. 26″ Krupp-Leufstahl bbls with matte rib and dual ivory sighting beads. Chambers open to 3″. CYL/CYL choke, ejectors, and single trigger. Right bbl engraved, “FR. WILH. HEYM” left engraved “SUHL – Germany” and rib is engraved, “Grade 4A. Krupp Fluid Steel Barrel” The side plated receiver is elaborately engraved with a pointer and setter on point of two pheasants on left plate, elaborate foliate scroll and, “FR. WILH. HEYM. SUHL” on bottom, and setter on quartering point of two partridge in a forested background on right plate. Fences with side clips are carved with oak leaves. Mounted in well figured walnut with checkered splintered forend, black tip insert, checkered pistol grip with sculpted horn grip cap and dropper points, 14″ over leather covered pad. Bore diameter: left -.640, right -.640. Bore restrictions: left -.008, right -.007. Wall thickness: left -.021, right -.023. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″. Drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 5 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 95-98% orig blue with just a few light handling marks. Receiver is mostly a silver/gray hardening color with traces of case color in protected areas. Stocks are solid with just a minor chip out behind each plate, a few light handling marks, a couple of nicks and dings, with a very fine hand rubbed oil finish, and sharp, crisp, very fine checkering. 4-32136 BDT196 (3,000-5,000)
