SCARCE SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 FIRST ISSUE 2ND TYPE REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. 3-3/16” ribbed oct bbl, brass frame with square butt and 2-pc rosewood grips. Original flat spring barrel catch. Unfluted cylinder has the White’s patent markings with the rotating recoil shield screwed to the frame. SN 253. CONDITION: Very fine. All matching including the grips. Bbl retains 40-50% flaked original blue with the balance a light patina. Frame has silver plating under the grips only with the exposed areas a medium mustard patina. Cylinder is a light gray patina with most of the patent line visible. Grips are fine and retain most of their original finish.
