SCARCE KERR PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 44. SN 1819. British made revolver of possible Civil War Confederate use. It has 5-3/4” ovoid oct bbl, 5-shot cylinder, with 1-pc checkered wood grips. It is a dbl action model. The left side of the frame has a small proof mark and another proof mark on the left side of the grip along with a large stamped number “4”. The right side of the frame has the serial number and an engraved number “30” which is upside down. The right forward side of the frame has a small “J” in a circle with a crown and there are other small proofs on the cylinder. The front of the cylinder has a stamped number “43”. CONDITION: About good. Retains an overall dark brown patina with very worn grips and mechanical problems. Hammer appears to be an old hand forged replacement.
