H. ROTH UNDERLEVER HAMMER CAPE GUN. SN 1400. Cal. 24 bore X what appear to be a 500 BPE 3” (Bore measures .500 and chamber is approx. 3” long with a straight tapered case). SN 1400. Fine light little rifle with 27” steel bbls, tapered, flat, matted rib with gold bead caterpillar front sight and 2-leaf express rear sight with doll’s head, extractor & dbl underbites. It has a dainty round action with side swinging underlever, deep scalloped firing pin wells with stippled top & peninsula back action locks with high spur delicate gooseneck hammers & dbl triggers, the right of which is set for rifle bbl. Mounted with highly figured, shell grain European walnut with lever latch full checkered splinter forearm and half hand buttstock with diamond shaped wrist & cheekpiece, 13-3/4” over a checkered horn buttplate. It has sling loops on bbl & stock. Weight: 6lb. 13.44 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain most of their orig strong blue. Receiver, lockplates, hammers & underlever retain about all of their orig case colors, brilliant on left side, slightly faded on right side and bottom of lever. Wood is sound with some light chemical spotting on buttstock with a few nicks & scratches and retains about all of its orig factory finish.
