SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1807 INDIAN CARBINE. Cal. 54. NSN. 33-1/2” rnd bbl. Marked “US / eagle / SPRINGFIELD”, the last in downward arc in front of hammer. The date 1808 is at rear of lockplate. Bbl is marked “U.S.” on top with standard proof marks on upper-left side. The date 1809 is on top tang of brass buttplate. Sling swivels have been removed. Ramrod is a replacement. Lock is marked “D” inside. Internal parts have “x” assembly marks. External parts have “v”. Pan has been welded without affecting “x” mark in front of frizzen screw. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina overall with light to moderate pitting around the touchhole. Wood has minor cracks and chips and has been refinished. Edwards Collection 4-58421 (5,000-8,000)
