JAMES BRADE SWORD (American, 1829-1915) “SEASCAPE, 1882”. Oil on board coastal scene shows a sailboat in ocean inlet. Beyond a low tide coastal scene with rocks, seaweed and flower grass. A nice scene, probably from the Newport, Rhode Island area. Signed lower right and dated “82”. Attached to reverse are two labels from Kennedy Galleries, Inc., New York. Housed in a gilt molded wood frame with linen liner. SIZE: 14” x 20”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-90186 MD (3,500-4,500)
