*STEPHEN GRANT SIDELEVER SIDELOCK EJECTOR GUN. SN 6274. Cal. 12ga. 28″ steel bbls are marked “STEPHEN GRANT & SONS.” on right bbl and “61. PALL MALL. ST JAMES’S. LONDON. ENGLAND.” on left bbl. The low concave game rib is marked “1” and has scroll engraving at the breech end. Bottoms of the bbls are marked with SN 6274 and are London proofed for 2-1/2″ chambers at .729 and .729. Sidelock action has 90% well executed English scroll with beautiful Stephen Grant fluted fences. Gun has dbl triggers, sidelever opening, lever and automatic safety. “SAFE” is inlaid in gold letters. Trigger guard has about 60% scroll engraving. The European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over checkered wood butt with gold oval engraved with an “S”. Splinter forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: right -.729, left -.726. Bore restrictions: right -.013, left -.021. Wall thickness: right -.036, left -.038. Drop at comb: 1-3/8″, drop at heel: 2″. Weight:6lbs 12oz. Cased in a Brady leather case with Atkin Grant & Lang, LTD label, green cloth interior, 3-pc wooden cleaning rod, a jag, and a key. CONDITION: Bbls are tight and on face. Ejectors are in time. Bores show slight frosting at breech end, but are mostly bright and shiny. New bbls have 95% of their blue with rub marks at breeches and muzzles. Action is finished bright and the engraving is slightly distorted from polishing. Trigger guard is reblued over fairly worn engraving. Sidelever, forend iron, and forend tip have most of their reblue with a touch of wear on thumbpiece. Buttstock appears to be a high quality replacement with most of its oil finish with a few very light handling marks. Forend appears to be orig with small repairs at left tip and central diamond. Checkering has been recut. Case is in very good condition. Handles and straps are intact. 4-32074 (8,000-10,000)
