ATTRIBUTED TO ADRIAN VAN DE VELDE (Dutch, 1636-1672) “CATTLE AND HERDSMAN”. Oil on canvas laid on wood panel scene shows a wooded riverbank with several cattle and sheep in and around water. Beneath a tree a herdsman in resting with his dog beside. A colorful sky is seen over the distant landscape. Work appears to be unsigned but the back retains an old cataloging entry with artist and description. Also another catalog entry is attached to frame. SIZE: 7″ x 10-3/4″. CONDITION: Warp to board, masking varnish, very good. 9-92386 (5,000-8,000)
