SCARCE ROBBINS, KENDALL & LAWRENCE MISSISSIPPI RIFLE. CAL. 58. 33” rnd bbl, turned at the muzzle for socket bayonet. Marked “ROBBINS / KENDALL & / LAWRENCE / U.S.” in front of the hammer and “WINDSOR VT / 1847” on the tail. No proof marks or date are visible on the bbl. There is no cartouche on the left side of the stock but inspector initials “JHK” are stamped in their place. The number 8 is stamped on the replacement iron counterplate. The ramrod is a replacement. The nipple and tool are absent from the patchbox. The rear sight is a replacement. CONDITION: Bbl and lock have been cleaned but some pitting remains. Stock has been repaired with added wood in front of the lockplate. It has normal dents and scratches. Llock is good. 4-52677 FS140 (2,000-2,500)
