*RARE TRAP/SKEET GRADE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 2942. Cal. 12 gauge. 26″ matted concave tapered rib with silver center and red Bradley front sighting bead. 2-3/4″ chambers with WS-1/WS-2 choke, ejectors, and single trigger. Early side paneled receiver stamped on trigger plate, “Trap” above the screw and, “Skeet” below it. Mounted with fancy flame grained walnut, kidney shaped checkered forend, checkered straight grip stock with checkered side panels, 14″ to checkered butt. The “Trap Skeet” grade was only offered through 1939. Bore diameter: left -.730, right -.729. Bore restrictions: left -.010, right -(.015). Wall thickness: left -.033, right -.028. Drop at heel: 1-7/8″. Drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs 4 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 95-98% orig blue with a couple minor rub marks on right bbl, and a couple normal light scratches. Receiver likewise has 95-98% orig blue with thinning to bright on left side hinge pin, some thinning across trigger plate, and some sharp edge wear. Stocks are sound with normal light handling marks, and has a thin coat of finely hand rubbed added finish. The forend shows some hand worn patina towards the rear portion. This is a fine difficult to find model 21. Mechanics are crisp, and bores are shiny. 4-31657 BDT160 (5,500-7,500)
