FINE SPENCER SPRINGFIELD CONVERSION RIFLE. Cal. 50. SN 30117. “ESA” cartouche on the left side of the stock. This Model 1865 saddle ring carbine was made by the Burnside Rifle Company. It was converted at the Springfield Armory by the addition of the 32-5/8” bbl, forearm with cleaning rod and two bbl bands for use in the Indian Wars. CONDITION: Excellent with 90% blue on bbl, bright casehardening colors on action and lockplate, slightly dull on the hammer and top of breechblock. Stock is excellent.
