AMES MODEL 1850 FOOT OFFICER’S SWORD. 30-1/2” dbl fuller blade with unreadable markings. Blued metal scabbard has gilt brass mounts marked “AMES MFG. CO / CHICOPEE / MASS” on the top carrying ring. CONDITION: Blade evenly covered with light surface rust and a few nicks in the etching. The sharkskin grip wrap is badly chipped but still solid. Guard is very dirty and has a coating of grease and verdigris. Scabbard retains about half of the blue and gilt finish that has considerable light rust. 4-47785 FS141 (400-800)
