This extremely fine E grade receiver is engraved with an oval with two pointers in a wooden scene, with dark shaded background on left side, two grouse with one in flight, and a separate woodcock in flight on bottom, and two setters in an oval with wooden scene and shaded background on right. Both left and right side of the receiver have a banner engraved, “Remington Arms Co.” with the balance of the receiver and appended metal done in a fine floral and foliate scroll. This high grade Remington was made without a safety. Mounted with fancy walnut with fully checkered splinter forend, elaborately checkered straight grip stock, and checkered side panels 14-5/8″ to Jostom vented pad, and 3/8″ black spacer. There is a blank gold oval in toe line. Bore diameter: left -.727, right -.724. Bore restrictions: left -.035, right -.032. Wall thickness: left -.043, right -.036. Drop at heel: 1-3/4″. Bbls apparently had a storage problem as right bbl for nearly it’s entire length has spotty, cleaned rust areas, and turning to a silver-patina finish with dark splotchy areas. There are a couple of minor rust areas on rib while left bbl has mostly a smooth finish with a blend of blue and silver-patina mix. The short under-rib is currently missing, and the first few inches of the rib forward of the forend lug is loose, but the lug is solid. The receiver is a clean silver-patina finish. Trigger guard is a silver-gray patina with some dark splotchy areas through the grip area. Wood is solid with numerous nicks and dings, and checkering is quite flat from it’s many years of use. Forend is solid with about a 1/2″ chip missing along right side, and mostly flat, dark checkering. There is a mechanical problem with the right ejector, and the bores are bright and shiny. 4-32077 BDT127 (10,000-15,000)
