MAX KUEHNE (American, 1880-1968) “CORNISH HEADLANDS-ST. IVES-1912”. Large oil on canvas coastline scene shows a wavy ocean, foreground being coastal ledge rock and a point of land in the right horizon. Colorful blue and white sky. Signed with Estate stamp bottom left “Kuehne”, also stamped on back top stretcher. Titled and dated on back of cardboard backing. Housed in an outstanding carved and gilt wide replacement frame. Artist has used heavy impasto to create depth in the painting. SIZE: 24″ x 30-1/4″. CONDITION: Edge strip lining, very good. 9-92668 (4,000-6,000)
