FINE ENGLISH CLASSIC MOURNING SWORD. Fine gentleman’s sword with 32” triangular blade 1” wide at the handguard. It has clam shell shaped iron counterguard with braided horse hair wrapped handle, narrow, smooth iron knuckle bow with short ball knob quillion and large finger tabs. The pommel cap is smooth round iron with helmet tip. CONDITION: The blade is smooth and clean with fine light patina. No appreciable rust or nicks. The counterguard and handle retain much of its original black paint. The quillion is slightly bent. The handle wrap has one small break, otherwise is sound and intact. 4-48940 JR727 (700-1,000)
