CASED PAIR OF FINE GOLD PLATED ENGLISH GENTLEMAN’S RIDING SPURS. Gold plated spurs by Peal of Duke Street (London). Beautiful deep relief engraved with patterns of leaves, flowers and thistles with a 2” shank having a solid smooth rowel decorated with flowers, shamrocks and thistle. They are designed to attach to the boot by means of a small square steel shank inserted through a corresponding hole in the boot heel. They are additionally marked left and right. Case is purple satin and velvet lined with retainer blocks for each spur. Case is covered with red Moroccan leather with a gold line on the top. CONDITION: Spurs are as new, appear unused retaining virtually all their bright gold plating. Case is equally fine with only minor scuffing and wear to the corners. A beautiful decorative set that would compliment anyone’s collection. 4-48860 JR544 (1,500-2,500)
