AMERICAN SILVER HILT SABER. Silver hilted bird’s head pommel with a partially checkered ivory grip. Single fullered curved blade, probably for a mounted officer. SIZE: Blade is 29-7/8″, overall 34-3/4″. CONDITION: The silver hilt is in fine condition. The ivory grip has cracks to ivory on both sides. A sliver chip near backstrap and a flat chip measuring approx. 1″ sq. extending down from pommel. Single fuller blade has overall gray patina with only minute traces of pitting. 4-48994 BF8 (2,000-2,500)
