AMERICAN SILVER EAGLE HILT SABER. A seldom seen style, eagle hilt saber with a low profile eagle head pommel and a silver guard terminating in an eagle head quillion. The eagle head quillion is a rare feature seldom encountered on silver hilt swords. Ferrule has an ivy leaf band encircling it. Ivory grip with diagonal banding. Blade with single wide fuller. SIZE: Blade is 32-1/8″, overall 37-3/8″. CONDITION: Eagle pommel is in fine condition, with only nominal wear. The silver guard has some slight bends, but no permanent damage. The eagle quillion is sharp, showing only minor wear. Blade has an overall gray patina with a few nicks concentrated near the ricasso. 4-48996 BF10 (7,000-8,000)
